Debbie Sharpe opened her first location of The Goddess and Grocer 21 years ago. As a long time resident of the Wicker Park/Bucktown community, she often found herself wishing for an Australian-style deli like those in her hometown Melbourne. A place to walk to for great coffee, freshly prepared foods, salads, sandwiches, and tasty treats. When a space became available on Damen Avenue, she jumped right in, and it was an immediate neighborhood favorite. Never one to sit back and relax, she then opened in the great Gold Coast and River North neighborhoods as well. And when she moved house to the West Loop, well, now we have a Fulton Market location, and a daily coffee visit with The Goddess herself!
